If you are having digestive problems like a noisy stomach and an irritable abdomen, chances are that it could be case of stomach yeasts.

Stomach yeasts affect health-our intestine contains 'normal flora'; bacteria that are essential for our health, such as E. coli and lactic acid bacteria; acidophilus and bifidobacterium. Normal amounts of Candida live in the mouth, stomach, and vagina, and do not cause infections. In a healthy gut, yeast, though present, are not predominant. Sometimes, these stomach yeasts which are none other than Candida overgrow and cause symptoms. Candidiasis of the gut is also caused due to long term intake of antibiotics, corticosteroids, and even birth control pills. Other conditions that predispose a person to this condition are pregnancy, obesity, bacterial infections or other health conditions such as diabetes, psoriasis or immunosuppression.

Symptoms caused by Candida in the stomach: There are a multitude of symptoms by which this condition presents. Most, do not recognize symptoms, till it is severe or the intestinal Candida presents with external symptoms. Commonly encountered symptoms related directly to the digestive system are, chronic fatigue especially after eating, bloating, gas and digestive problems including chronic diarrhea or constipation. Among a few of the other symptoms are general fatigue, depression, poor memory, lack of concentration, mood swings, irritability, allergies, pre-menstrual syndrome in women and muscle and joint pains. The person also may experience cravings for sugars and simple carbohydrates.

Candida in the stomach can cause severe infection-apart from the mentioned symptoms, the Candida that grows rapidly in the entire gut is present in the invasive hyphal form. These hyphae grown into the intestinal cells and if left unchecked can cause perforations in the intestinal walls and related complications.

You can get rid of the Candida in the stomach-tackling the condition is in two phases. The first step is to starve the yeast, followed by killing it. The best analogy is a garden overgrown with weeds. The patch has to be 'de-weeded' before good seeds are planted. It does not stop here; the young saplings have to be nurtured till they are full grown.

Starving the yeast

Candida loves sugar especially refined carbohydrates. These foods also do not conform to a healthy diet and a person who wants to rid himself from stomach yeasts should stay away these foods. Only when these foods are cut out from diet completely, will the yeast starve. In any event, if sugar rich portions are consumed, the yeast will continue to grow and flourish. Diet plays a vital role and no anti Candida program or treatment works if the Candida is being fed. Poor diet, following an antibiotic regimen can also initiate a yeast infection as this provides an ideal environment for the yeast; weak immune system and lack or poor 'normal flora'.

Be careful how many Thyroxine tablets you injest. If you fall down on your butt, you likely have a bruised coccyx.
